Have you ever wondered what the biggest casino win ever was? Who won the most at a casino with the most humungous jackpot?

Well, we are glad you asked as we were wondering just that today, so we decided to do a bit of research for you. You know, interest only and all that.

Probably the most famous win of recent times (and this was in a landbased casino by the way) was by a 92 year old guy called Elmer Sherwin won more than $21 million playing the Megabucks slot at the Cannery in Las Vegas. Not only that, but 16 years previously he had won almost $5 million playing the same game at the Mirage (you couldn´t make this up). Irish ancestry perhaps? And likes Guiness, doesn´t mind a spot of rain, etc etc?

Megabucks is a progressive slot. The record jackpot was more than $38million won at Excalibur in March 2003- but we couldn´t track down the name of the winner on that one.

Then there was the 84-year-old Gold Grannie Josephine Crawford who won a staggering $10 million in Harrah’s Atlantic City. She won on the Megabucks slot machine again.

And if you don´t think that some people are lucky, what about Jo Ann Argyris, a single mother of two and a grandmother of three from Boulder City, Nevada, who won $1 million for the second time in less than a year on a penny slot. Not quite the multi-millions of the last 2, granted, but all the same…..

She won her first $1 million jackpot on a slot machine at Sunset Station casino in Henderson. The second win came Thursday night at the Railroad Pass casino, where she had been playing for 10 minutes. Her spend: about $35.
