Slots fans are in for a treat as Microgaming Casinos have announced that they have done a deal to launch a Lord of The Rings Casino Slot.

Microgaming , the web’s largest provider of online casino, poker and bingo software, has agreed a licensing agreement with Warner Bros. to launch a range of new, visually stunning online slots, based on The Lord of the Rings trilogy, for adults to play in countries where online casinos are permitted. 

Microgaming will launch the slots using material, stories and the rich set of characters from the blockbuster films The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring, The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers and The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King.

Things are certainly hotting up in the slots licencing market as Playtech has stolen a march on its rival over the past year, launching blockbusters like the Gladiator Slot to high aclaim. But with this set of films pulling in $3billion worldwide at the box office and with 17 Academy Awards® in the bag, you´d be crazy to bet against the success of this one.

Microgaming have just released Hellboy, which seems to be proving popular within the slots community. The software company is the brains and brawn behind the world’s largest online Progressive Jackpot Network and has paid out over €265million. In May 2009 it paid out €6.37million to a lucky punter on Mega Moolah: a record.
