Betfair have teamed up with SportsAid, the charity for sports people, to raise funds over 2 years. Betfair will match what is raised each year up to £125,000- the target is an additional £500,000 for SportsAid
SportsAid helps young sportsmen and women in the UK at an age when no-one else does. It funds the next generation of athletes to help them achieve their goals and reach their full potential. Betfair will be specifically sponsoring 30 athletes in the Talented Athlete Scholarship Scheme (TASS).
This specific scheme is a Govt backed programme which supports young sporting talent. SportsAid does this through tailored services, including coaching, sports medicine, sport science etc., to make sure that the young athletes have the best level of support to train and compete while they continue their studies.
Fundraising includes sponsorship of the SportsAid lunch clubs, involvement in the Sports Ball, as well as Betfair events, and employee and customer fundraising.
